Volumetric Concrete vs. Ready-Mix

Volumetric Concrete vs. Ready-mix Concrete

What's the difference?

Both volumetric and traditional ready-mix concrete can be used for construction projects. The primary difference is where and when the concrete is produced.

Traditional ready-mix concrete

Traditional ready-mix concrete is generally produced at a batching plant.

After mixing, it is loaded into a rotating drum truck and transported to the project.

This means the concrete has already been mixed before arriving at the jobsite.

Volumetric concrete

A volumetric truck carries the primary ingredients separately.

The materials are measured and mixed at the jobsite as concrete is required.
